NEW YORK, una guglia nel vuoto delle Torri Gemelle

Il vuoto lasciato dal crollo delle Torri Gemelle sarà riempito dalla complesso di edifici disegnato dall'architetto Daniel Libeskind.
Il progetto di Libeskind, polacco residente in Germania, ha vinto il concorso indetto e seguito dalla Lower Manhattan Development corporation , la società responsabile dello sviluppo e della gestione dell'area del Wtc.

Le Twin Towers non saranno sostituite da due nuovi grattacieli, ma da una serie di edifici ad angolo e una guglia che raggiungerà quasi 600 metri di altezza. Nella misura tradizionale anglosassone, misurerà 1776 piedi, un numero uguale all'anno della indipendenza degli Stati Uniti.

Lo studio di Daniel Libeskind è stato preferito "in finale" a quello del team Think (composto da un gruppo di architetti di New York, guidati da Rafael Vinoly e Frederic Schwartz) che aveva invece pensato a due torri: due grattacieli "gru" di 550 metri di altezza.

Il progetto di Daniel Libeskind prevede un memoriale delle vittime dell'11 Settembre: un pozzo cintato da elementi originali delle fondamenta delle Torri Gemelle.

Arriva il documento dello scandalo

Arriva in Italia Living with Michael Jackson, la discussa intervista-scandalo che il cantante ha rilasciato qualche mese fa e in cui ha rivelato di "aver dormito nel letto con diversi bambini". Un documento esclusivo, realizzato dall'emittente americana Abc, che ha conquistato le prime pagine dei giornali di tutto il mondo e che i telespettatori italiani potranno vedere su Italia 1 lunedì 24 febbraio alle ore 21.00.

La vita di Michael Jackson, la pop star più celebre, discussa ed enigmatica del pianeta viene messa a nudo e raccontata in molti momenti dallo stesso Jackson che affronta anche i temi scabrosi del suo rapporto con l'infanzia e i bambini. Per la prima volta l'artista ha acconsentito alle telecamere della Abc di seguirlo nella sua vita quotidiana, insomma la prima volta che una tv ha potuto violare la sua privacy.

Nel documentario sulla sua vita Jackson ha ingigantito i sospetti che gravavano su di lui. Frustato da bambino e cresciuto con l'ossessione per l'infanzia, la quarantaquattrenne popstar si è confermata, nel giudizio di Martin Bashir, il giornalista che per otto mesi gli ha vissuto al fianco, "un individuo inquietante con la passione per le spese folli e un desiderio di immortalità".

Questo show inedito, in cui Jackson ha cercato di riabilitare la sua immagine, è stato definito dai critici il più "lungo suicidio della storia". Davanti alle telecamere Jackson ha fatto inediti racconti sulla sua infanzia, svelando che il padre, ai tempi dei Jackson Five, lo frustava all'età di 7 anni con una cintura malgrado le urla disperate della mamma: "Joe, lo ucciderai, lo ucciderai!". Forse per questa ragione la sua maturazione è stata segnata dall'ossessione per il mondo infantile. "Se su questa terra non ci fossero più bambini" ha dichiarato "se qualcuno annunciasse che tutti i bambini sono morti, io mi butterei subito dal balcone".

Il divo ha poi raccontato dell'amicizia che lo lega a un bambino di 12 anni malato di cancro, Gavin, che ha dormito nel suo letto insieme al fratellino Star. "Io dormivo per terra nel sacco a pelo" ribadendo che la sua passione per i bambini non ha nulla di sessuale: gli piace mettere a letto i bambini, rinboccare loro le coperte e portargli latte caldo e biscotti. Tra i "piccoli amici" della star c'è stato anche Macaulay Culkin, l'interprete di Mamma ho perso l'aereo, quando era piccolo: "Kieran Culkin dormiva da questa parte, Macaulay da quest'altra e le sue sorelle in mezzo: ci siamo tutti stretti nel letto" ha detto Jacko.

Il suo terzo figlio è nato grazie alla fecondazione artificiale, da una madre surrogata che lui non ha mai incontrato. "Lei non mi ha mai visto: a me interessava solo che fosse sana, il colore della pelle mi era indifferente", ha spiegato il cantante. La ex moglie Debbie Rowe aveva accettato di fare due figli con lui perché sapeva che desiderava disperatamente essere padre: "Lo ha fatto per me, ha voluto farmi questo regalo", ha detto, raccontando che quando è nata la seconda figlia, Paris, "l'ho avvolta in una coperta e me la sono portata a casa, con la placenta e tutto il resto spalmato addosso. Non scherzo. Sono scappato con lei; poi a casa l'ho lavata per bene".




Lopez-Affleck: sfumano le nozze

San Valentino è arrivato ma dei fiori d'arancio nemmeno l'ombra: Jennifer Lopez non indosserà l'abito bianco per Ben Affleck.
Ufficialmente a mandare in fumo le nozze più attese del 2003 sarebbe stata l'eccessiva attenzione dei media. "Aspetteremo finchè i riflettori non si spegneranno", ha dichiarato lo sposo mancato. In realtà, a spingerlo a rinviare il sì a data da destinarsi, sarebbe stato il solito terzo incomodo, rispondente al nome di Puff Daddy. E dire che, nonostante la volubilità di lei ed il caratteraccio di lui, sembravano filare d'amore e d'accordo. Al punto da fissare le nozze proprio il 14 febbraio, giorno degli innamorati. "Sebbene sia già stata sposata due volte, in realtà non ho ancora avuto un vero matrimonio", aveva dichiarato pochi giorni fa J-Lo, al settimo cielo. E, in effetti, riuscire a far capitolare uno degli scapoli più incalliti e ricercati di Hollywood farebbe impennare il livello di autostima di chiunque! "Sono innamorato e voglio una famiglia", le faceva eco Ben. All'improvviso, invece, il sì è sfumato. Ufficialmente la colpa sarebbe dell'incessante pubblicità e dei paparazzi, rei di non aver lasciato ai due piccioncini nemmeno un attimo di intimità. Così, per percorrere la navata i due avrebbero deciso di aspettare che "l'attenzione si plachi", ha dichiarato il protagonista di Pearl Harbor in un'intervista al britannico Sun.

In realtà, secondo i beninformati, a far cambiare idea all'attore sarebbe stata la scelta della Lopez di commissionare l'abito da sposa all'ex fidanzato Puff Daddy, proprietario di una nota linea di abbigliamento. Non solo: gli amici della coppia raccontano che Jennifer avrebbe pure chiesto al promesso sposo di sfogliare insieme a lei i cataloghi spediti dal cantante per scegliere i modelli più adatti per la cerimonia. Una mossa azzardata per la fidanzata di uno che a Hollywood è famoso per la gelosia! Già qualche mese fa, infatti, Affleck aveva minacciato di mandare a monte il matrimonio, dopo un violento litigio. E, ancora una volta, non l'avrebbe presa molto bene. "Ben ha ordinato alla fidanzata di buttare i cataloghi nella spazzatura". Ora, non resta che aspettare e vedere che cosa riuscirà ad inventare Jennifer questa volta per placare le ire del suo Ben e portarlo finalmente all'altare. Appuntamento alla prossima puntata!
